At AWA AFRICA, we believe that education is more than a human right – it is the key to breaking cycles of poverty, inequality, and displacement. Our education programs are designed to ensure that every child, especially girls, has the chance to learn, grow, and thrive – no matter their circumstances.
In crisis-affected communities, we provide both immediate and long-term support to restore learning opportunities and improve the quality of education.
For out-of-school children and adolescents, especially in displacement or post-conflict settings, our ALPs offer a second chance at education. These flexible, fast-track programs help learners catch up and transition into formal schooling or vocational pathways.
We rehabilitate and construct classrooms, sanitation facilities, and learning spaces in communities where schools have been damaged or under-resourced. Safe, inclusive environments are key to meaningful learning.
Our continuous professional development programs equip teachers with skills in child-centered learning, trauma-informed approaches, and inclusive education — enhancing both teaching quality and student outcomes.
We provide children with the basic tools they need to succeed — from textbooks and uniforms to stationery and school bags — removing financial barriers that keep many learners, particularly girls, out of the classroom.
We mobilize communities, parents, and local leaders to champion education. Through door-to-door outreach, public events, and media campaigns, we encourage school attendance and reduce dropout rates — especially among girls and vulnerable children.
To ensure that no child is left behind, and that every learner has the opportunity to pursue a brighter future through education — regardless of gender, location, or background.
